Anne Aderman

Biography

Anne Aderman’s brightly colored, figurative style immediately captivates collectors, but it’s the stories woven into each piece and her ability to draw viewers into her paintings that keep them coming back. Born with artistic talent, she sketched pencil portraits as a small child and explored acrylics and watercolors in high school. Her distinctive style truly flourished at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she earned her fine arts degree. Understanding that a successful artist needs business acumen, Anne entered the world of finance to support her art while gaining valuable entrepreneurial skills.
In the early 1990s, with her husband Bill’s support, Anne retired from banking to pursue art full-time. She opened Gallery Imprevu in Pittsford, New York, where she continues to create today. Her painting studio occupies the second floor, while the first floor showcases her oils, watercolors, acrylics, and even painted horses. Whether working on paper, canvas, fiberglass, or aluminum, Anne’s expressionistic style carries a slightly abstract twist that invites observers into her unique perspective.
Anne’s originals and limited edition graphics are exhibited in galleries across the Atlantic and represented by Park West Gallery. She participates annually in the International New York Art Expo and serves as a member of the Rochester Arts Council, while generously contributing to local and national charities.
